Kartik Fine Arts presents Bharatanatyam performance of Nandini Jayakumar
Bharatanatyam performance to be held on 8th June 2022, under the auspices of Kartik Fine Arts in RK Swamy Auditorium, Mylapore, Chennai.
Nandini Jayakumar is an innovative young dancer and choreographer in the Bharatanatyam art form. She has been referred to as a “Rising Star” by Press and has been praised for her perfect movements, nuanced expressions, and brisk footwork in both, the traditional idiom and modern performance art.
She has learnt the traditional Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam for over a decade under
Kalaimamani Guru Dr. Rajeswari Sainath, and also has also been trained by Guru Shri.

Nandini has performed in prestigious festivals and venues in India including Madras Music
Academy, ‘Saarang’ Classical Night in IIT Madras, Times of India’s ‘Yuva Nrithya Utsav’, Tamil Nadu Ministry of Tourism’s ‘Mamallapuram Dance Festival’, Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad, Konark Dance Festival in Orissa, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
Also Globally, including ‘Cinema Teatro Tivoli’ in Italy, ‘Folklore Springtale Festival’ in Czech
Republic, ‘Asian Arts Festival’ in the United Kingdom, etc. She was also a youth member of
UNESCO’s Conseil International de la Danse, France.
She is a two-time winner of the national award-winning Bharatanatyam show ‘Thaka Dimi Tha’ by JAYA TV.
Nandini is an alumnus of IIT Madras, and also holds a Joint Master’s from four European
Universities in Italy, Netherlands, Austria, and Norway.
She has also been awarded scholarships by the European Union and the French Government.
Nandini is working on diverse projects related to healthcare technologies and policy with
governments across Asia and Africa. And now she is a Research Assistant at London School of Economics in the UK.
