Velammal Nexus proudly hosted a magnificent Felicitation Ceremony to honor Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur, the esteemed captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, for her remarkable victory at the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
The event kicked off with a vibrant welcome from hundreds of Velammal Nexus students, who formed a spectacular formation, waving flags and showering warm ovations. A grand procession, featuring the school band, cultural performers, and exemplary sports achievers, escorted Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur into the venue, celebrating her as a true national icon. The atmosphere was filled with cheers and pride as students greeted her with traditional honors and spirited applause.
As part of Velammal Nexus’s commitment to nurturing young talent, several significant recognitions took center stage:
- Felicitation of Gold Medalist Ms. Sharvaanica (U-10 Girls Chess Champion) with a cheque of ₹5,00,000.
- Felicitation of Gold Medalist Ms. Diksha Sudhakar (First Indian to win Asian U17 Girls Single Title in Badminton) with a cheque of ₹3,00,000.
- Recognition of 110 outstanding players across multiple disciplines with sports scholarships totalling ₹3 crores.
- Bhoomi Pooja for the upcoming Velammal Vidyalaya Adayalampattu Sports Stadium, a 2.5-acre world-class multi-sport arena, funded by ₹4.5 crores.
