GEM HOSPITAL DOCTOR CONFERRED “BEST RESEARCHER AWARD” BY IAGES
Dr.P.Praveen Raj, Head of the Department of Bariatric Surgery – GEM Hospital, also known for his health awareness initiatives has been conferred the “Best Researcher award” for his research contributions in the field of Bariatric Surgery by the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), during their annual conference recently. He’s among only four surgeons in the country, and only one from South India to be conferred this prestigious honour.
The award comes with a plaque and 1lac INR price money. He shall be contributing this fund for further research for the Post graduate students of GEM hospital. It is important to note that he’s the President-elect of the Obesity Surgery Society of India and President of International Excellence Federation in Bariatric Surgery (India Chapter).
