Marathon Run for a cause
High BP is a silent killer. Uncontrolled high BP can lead to kidney failure. The Police who are our frontline workers is under pressure all day every day. Therefore, there is a high incidence of kidney disease among them. TANKER Foundation is raising funds for blood pressure monitors for all Police stations in Chennai, Avadi, and Tambaram. This will enable all Police personnel to check their BP regularly and take action if high BP is detected. TANKER hopes to include all the police stations in Tamilnadu in this project.
DGP Dr. Jayanth Murali IPS has spontaneously agreed to do a 42 km full Marathon as a fundraiser for TANKER Foundation for this pressing cause. This will be on Sunday 12th June at the IIT Madras campus. The flag-off will be at 5 am and will finish at 9.30 am.
