Vijayalakshmi Ramaswamy is New President for Rotary Club of Madras Vadapalani
At a formal function held at Hotel Green Park, Vadapalani on 20th July, 2019 evening, Rtn.Vijayalakshmi Ramaswamy installed as the New President of Rtoary Club of Madras Vadapalani. The outgoing President Rtn.Uma Shankar collared the incoming President Rtn.Vijayalakshmi Ramaswamy in the presence of Rotary District Governor Rtn.Chandramohan Govindarajulu, Past District Governor Rtn.ISAK Nazar, District Secretary Rtn.Ganapathy Suresh, Asst.Governor Rtn.Mujesh, Regional Secretary Rtn.Venkat, members of the club and rotarians from Rotary International district 3232 were present. Rtn.Mohan Boovaragavan takes charge as the Secretary for this year.
The Club trainer cum Advisor of the club, Rtn.Chandrasekaran says the club is completing 23 years and Rtn.Vijayalakshmi is the 3rd lady president taking the responsibility of leading the club in the Rotary Year 2019-20. He explained that the club has taken initiatives to increase membership 25%. The club has been doing extraordinary service in the last many years to the burn & fire injury ward at the Kilpauk Medical College hospital. Through the clubs trust, the hospital’s burn injury ward receives various assistance such as medicines, materials needed for treatment of patients with burn & fire injury since 5 years. Rotary Club of Madras Vadapalani supports two care homes for leprosy patients, one at Chengalpettu and other at Kancheepuram. The Club helps the homes with regular supplies of food materials, furniture, beds and other needs from time to time. These are two continuing projects of the club.
