ஞாயிறு கடிதம் (Sunday Letter) book launch at 89-year-old historic bookstore. A first-time author Karthik Chidambaram, CEO of DCKAP launches his new book in an 89-year-old bookstore, Alwar Kadai at an unusual book launch. 

Karthik Chidambaram, Founder & CEO of DCKAP launched his first book ‘ஞாயிறு கடிதம்’ (Sunday Letter)  at the 89 years old “Alwar Bookstore”, located on the roadside of Mylapore Luz Corner, Chennai. It is noteworthy that Arignar Anna and Kalaignar Karunanidhi and many others have bought and read books from this bookstore. The book entitled “Sunday Letter/ ஞாயிறு கடிதம்” is a collection of handwritten letters written and posted every Sunday and was launched with pride in the old legacy bookstore.

Late-Alwar, the founder and owner of the bookstore, has left behind a cherished heritage to his daughters Julie Marie and Ammu Alwar, who were present at the book launch along with their one-year-old great-grandson. Alwar’s daughters expressed immense joy at the book launch, noting that despite the tens of thousands of books sold at the bookstore over the years, it was the first time a brand new book like” ஞாயிறு கடிதம்” was launched in its 89 year old history in the presence of roadside booksellers like us.  Also, they sincerely wished that Sunday Letter/ ஞாயிறு கடிதம் would reach millions of readers with their father’s blessings.

The author, Karthik Chidambaram, CEO of DCKAP said that he was delighted and thankful to launch his first book at the Alwar Bookstore at Mylapore Luz. Alwar bookstore has uplifted hundreds of thousands of people for several decades and it is a matter of pride that ஞாயிறு கடிதம்’ (Sunday Letter) is being launched here.

Testament to the saying that “Teamwork is essential for any successful endeavour”, the launch event took place in the presence of the entire team who helped compile and publish the book. Experienced and first-time authors should come forward to launch their books in such roadside stores to help each other’s success and mutual growth. Amid the declining popularity of such roadside books, events like this will earn the recognition that these businesses deserve the most.
