Ranga Mandira Academy of World Dance / Performance and Indic Studies presents “Venba Sisters” Kum Vilasini Srikkantan & Nandikaa Srikkantan, disciples of Guru Dr Swarnamalya Ganesh in their SADIR arangetram. Sadir is the precursor to Bharatanatyam practiced by the hereditary artistes, the word itself could have been derived from the Persian word “sadhar” meaning gathering. Invoking Hindu pantheon Gods, local deities & Kings, the repertoire has a wide variety of classical cross-interactions between cultures.

சதிர், பரத நாட்டியத்தின் முன்னோடி, பரம்பரைக்கலைஞர்களால் ஆடப்பட்டு வந்தது.சதிர் என்ற வார்த்தையின் வேர் ‘சதர்’ என்ற பாரசீகச் சொல் என்று கொள்ளலாம். சதிர் என்ற சொல்லுக்கு கூடுகை என்று பொருள்.இந்துக்கடவுளர், உள்ளூர்த் தெய்வங்கள் மற்றும் மன்னர்களைப் போற்றுமுகத்தான் பல்வகைக் கலைகளையும், பண்பாட்டுப் பரிமாற்றங்களையும் உட்செரித்து உருப்பெற்றதே சதிர்.
