The children from Udavum Karangal Orphanage have performed exceptionally well in their 12th standard public examinations.
Udavum Karangal maintains a Home at Thiruverkadu for parentless children under the guidance of the Child Welfare Committee, Tiruvallur. Education is compulsory in the Home. All the residents of the Home are provided ample opportunity for schooling and higher education. Nearly 920 children who have been residents of Udavum Karangal have completed their formal education and are having a career to stand on their legs.
In this direction, two students of the Orphanage who have appeared for this year’s 12th Std Public examination (Ramakrishna Vidya Niketan School, Thiruverkadu) viz., Shreya Vidyaakar and Upasana Vidyaakar have come out in flying colors scoring more than 80% of marks.

Founder of Udavum Karangal, Mr. Vidyaakar, says,” They both are growing at Udavum Karangal from day 1 of their infancy and are very bright students. I was sure they would score high marks and now they have kept up the name of our Orphanage. They are role models for the younger children growing up in the orphanage. They are interested in studying Engineering and want to become Software Developers. We will help them to become one. In the circumstances, I also thank all those who have supported Udavum Karangal in taking care of children for the last 40 years.”
