“Piano Recital” by Yukiko Kusunoki
ABK-AOTS Dosokai, Tamilnadu Centre in association with the Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai supported by Musee Musical are organizing a “Piano Recital” by Yukiko Kusunoki, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday 20 March 2023 at the Music Academy, Kasturi Srinivasan Mini Hall, (N32 No168, T T K Road, Chennai 600 014).
Yukiko Kusunoki graduated from Kunitachi College of Music, Department of Instrumental Music, majoring in piano. She studied piano under Satoru Takahashi, Mikio Ikezawa, Gen Matsuyama, Klaus Kaufmann, Diane Andersen, Eugene Pridonov, and Thomas Boeckler, and chamber music and song accompaniment under Gen Matsuyama and Michio Kobayashi. With the aspiration of “creating a world of love and peace where people can live as they wish”, she currently performs mainly classical music, plans and produces concerts, and conducts music projects to nurture local communities throughout Japan. She supervises “Ongaku no Ie+,” a housing complex where musicians live to connect people, community, and music, and in 2021, her “Connecting Hearts through Music: Picture Book and Storytelling Concert” video distribution project was selected as an Art for the Future grant project by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. As an instructor for younger students, she runs Yukiko Kusunoki Piano School in Meguro-ku, Tokyo.
She runs an online music school for Japanese expatriates. She has attended workshop facilitator training programs in England and Portugal. She is a member of the Society for Performance Expression. In November 2022, she gave a solo recital at Calcutta School of Music, the oldest music school in India. Music lovers enjoy the mesmerizing tunes to be recited by Kusunoki enthralling the audience with vibrant music to be played by her in the Grand Piano. The concert is ENTRY FREE. ALL ARE WELCOME, but seats are available on a first come first served basis. (Entrance to hall will open at 6;00 p.m. and closed at 6:30 p.m.).
