Marghazhi Maha Utsavam
In the auspicious month of Marghazhi, a time dedicated to spiritual growth, Sindhi Model Senior Secondary School joyfully observed the Margazhi Maha Utsavam on January 11, 2024, on the school premises. The celebration unfolded amid the enchanting and divine atmosphere that graces the entire Chennai city.
With the aim of fostering spirituality and love for arts in young minds, the event witnessed the presence of Kalaimamani Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, Founder-Director of RASA (Ramana Sunritya Aalaya), as the esteemed Chief Guest. The ceremony was elevated with the presence of members of the management, the press, parents, and students.
The program commenced with a prayer led by the school choir upon the arrival of the Chief Guest, then the ceremonial lamp was lit to invoke the blessings of the almighty. The Principal Smt. Victoria welcomed the gathering and invited those present to immerse in cultural richness and artistic brilliance as art and culture intertwined. Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, in her address, appreciated the management and students for the stupendous initiative. She encouraged the students to enhance their talents and abilities in order to find their unique niche. Dr. Ambika recited Maithreem Bhajata, a Sanskrit benediction on audience demand and kept the listeners immersed in the divinity of the moment.
Dance and vocal music serve as an expansive artistic canvas for students to articulate their thoughts and emotions while enhancing mental and physical coordination. The students eloquently recited hymns from the Thiruppavai and Thiruvempaavai, enveloping the surroundings in a spiritual aura. A captivating Bharatanatyam performance, portraying the Shiva Tandava, added vibrancy to the stage.
Accompanied by a soulful bhajan, the kolattam dance infused the stage with a myriad of colours, intensifying the emotional resonance. Chanting filled the ambiance, creating a pulsating atmosphere. The transcendent setting was further enriched by the joining in of tiny tots adorned as various Deities, Dasavatharam, Ashtalakshmi, and Nayanmars.
The campus was bathed in hues of divine presence, complemented by captivating lighting and classical music, evoking thunderous applause from the awed audience. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the Vice Principal Smt. Padma.
