Komatsu sponsors sewing machines for underprivileged women.
As part of its CSR initiative, the Japanese company Komatsu gave 100 sewing machines, worth Rs. 6,50,000, to destitute women living near Sungavarchatram. Sevalaya is the implementation partner, identifying the beneficiaries, purchasing the machines, and coordinating the distribution.
Paari Sridattan, Deputy Plant Director at Komatsu, distributed the sewing machines and said that Komatsu was happy to be a part of this occasion and partner with Sevalaya in serving the underprivileged. Takahashi, HR Manager of Komatsu India Private Limited expressed his hope that this donation would help the women improve their quality of life. Dillibabu, Deputy Manager HR & GA, Komatsu India Private Limited said it was a pleasure to work with Sevalaya and assist those in need. Kailash Senior Manager HR and GA, Komatsu India Private Limited, concluded that their organization had aided the elderly in Kasuva by giving them infrastructure support, sewing machines for needy women, and sponsoring 2 Education resource centres at Gudalur.
