“EPFO, Tambaram disbursed the PF, Pension & EDLI benefits to the eligible family members of the employee deceased due to Industrial Accident”

“Regional Industrial Accidents Monitoring Cell” (RIAM) Cell headed by Regional PF Commissioner-I has been formed by this office to monitor in the events of any incidents of industrial accidents resulting in the death of employees, to take immediate initiative to settle death claims of the concerned employees.

An EPF member Sri.Selvam Jayaraman (aged 52 years) of the private company at Maraimalai nagar was died due to snapping of overhead chain and heavy door falling on him while cleaning the machines on 13.02.23. The area Enforcement Officer Sri.Hariharan had contacted the family members of the deceased employee, explained the proactive action by the EPFO, and obtained the death claims which were processed immediately.

On 16.03.2023, Sri.Himanshu Kumar, Regional PF Commissioner-I handed over the PF, Pension & Insurance (EDLI) benefits to the widows and Children of the deceased employee. The family members of the deceased and the employer expressed their gratitude and appreciated the initiative for the death settlement immediately.
