Green Trends salon takes ‘Tangled’- hair donation drive national 2nd edition of Tangled inaugurated today at Women’s Christian College.

After a tremendously successful inaugural campaign last year, Green Trends Unisex Hair & Style Salon is all set to nationally roll out Tangled - the hair donation drive for making natural wigs for cancer patients from the 4th to the 13th of February, 2015. As part of the inaugural event, young women were seen donating their hair today at Women’s Christian College.

Tangled is a hair donation drive conceptualized by the rotractors of Women’s Christian College, executed along with Green Trends salon and the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai. Set to kick-start on World Cancer Day which falls on the 4th of February, the annual campaign is aimed to support cancer patients who undergo hair loss due to the prolonged chemotherapy treatment.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr.R.Gopalakrishnan Business Head, Trends In Vogue Pvt.Ltd. mentioned “We are enormously inspired by the response and support received for the launch campaign last year, and as an activity it gave us tremendous satisfaction to be associated with such a noble cause. For Tangled 2014, we had over 3,500 people donating their hair willingly, creating about 300 wigs benefiting the cancer affected patients. We are positive on receiving a similar in fact a much stronger support this year. ”

Mr.S.Deepak Praveen, COO, Green Trends Unisex Hair & Style Salon said; “The one week campaign allows customers to walk into any Green Trends salon to donate a lock of hair for the cause. Our stylists have been specifically trained to cut eight to ten inches of hair, which is the minimum length required to make a wig, without affecting the existing hairstyle of the donor. The hair collected will be later handed over to the college representatives and converted into customized wigs for patients affected by cancer.”
