Chennai, 29th July 2013: Shasun Jain College for Women today announced the launch of a course on Liberal Education by forming an advisory body meeting comprising of eminent educationists, academicians and renowned professionals in the likes of Mr Mike Nithavriankis, Mr Sudeep Jain, Dr Indira Parekh, Dr Jagdish Seth, Mr R Thyagarajan, Mr R Natarajan, Mr Abhaya Kumar, Dr Pappu Venugopal Rao, Ms Trupti Singh, Mr Raghu Ananthnarayan, Dr Srikant M Datar and Dr Uma Ganesh at the college premises.
By taking up this radical step, Shasun has become the first college in South India to launch this unique course that will allow students to blend various passions. Students can choose courses across various streams of study. It comprises the accumulation of general knowledge and a development of a student’s intellect.
The distinctive mark of liberal education is that the courses will never leave a student’s life even after she has written her final exam. The course will stand by a student’s life even during times of despair. Courses offered under Liberal education are: Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts.
There is a need for development of faculty. Train a good faculty and she will train thousands of students”, said Mr R Thyagarajan, Chairman Shriram Group. Mr Thyagarajan has also offered two deserving students full scholarship for the Shasun School of Liberal Education course.
